Cookie Policy

Ask Your HVAC Pro uses a small number of cookies and browser-storage items. Here is the complete list — there are no third-party advertising trackers.

What we store

Item	Type	Purpose	Retention
`authToken`	localStorage	Keeps you signed in. Without this, you'd have to log in on every page load.	Until you log out or 30 days, whichever comes first.
`cookieConsent`	localStorage	Remembers whether you accepted the cookie banner so we don't show it again.	Until you clear browser storage.
Service Worker cache	Cache Storage	Caches static assets (HTML, CSS, JS, images) so the app loads fast and works briefly offline.	Until cache version changes (auto-cleared on app updates).
Stripe cookies (during checkout)	HTTP cookies (set by checkout.stripe.com)	Required for Stripe's hosted Checkout and Customer Portal pages to function (fraud detection, session continuity).	Per Stripe's policy. See stripe.com/cookie-settings.

What we do NOT use

No advertising trackers
No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar profiling cookies
No cross-site tracking

Managing cookies

You can clear all our local storage at any time via your browser's "clear site data" option. Doing so will sign you out and reset the cookie banner. We do not currently expose a granular cookie-management UI because the only optional item is the consent flag itself; everything else is required for the service to function.

Changes

If we add new cookies, we will update this page and re-prompt the consent banner.
