Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-05-05

The short version:
  • Paid plans auto-renew until you cancel — monthly or yearly per the plan you pick.
  • You can cancel anytime via Settings → Manage Subscription. No cancellation fees.
  • The 7-day free trial converts to paid automatically unless cancelled before it ends.
  • Refunds are at our discretion — generally none for partial billing periods.
  • The AI's answers are informational; not a substitute for a licensed HVAC pro.

1. The service

Ask Your HVAC Pro ("the service") provides AI-assisted HVAC information, diagnostic, and advisory tools to homeowners and trade professionals.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate signup info and keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity under your account. Don't share access with others.

3. Acceptable use

Don't:

  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our prompts or model outputs at scale.
  • Submit malicious content, illegal material, or content infringing third-party rights.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, or tier gates.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
  • Use the service to develop a competing product.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and auto-renewal

By subscribing to any paid plan, you agree to the following recurring billing terms:

  • Your selected plan (Basic, Homeowner, or Professional, monthly or yearly) will be billed automatically at the start of each billing period.
  • The 7-day free trial begins on signup. If you do not cancel before it ends, your card will be charged for the first billing period.
  • Renewals continue indefinitely until you cancel.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access through the period you've already paid for.
  • Stripe processes all payments. We never see or store your card details.
  • Prices are in USD. We may change prices with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions are honored at the original price for the current period.

How to cancel: sign in → Settings → Manage Subscription → Cancel. The Stripe Customer Portal will confirm your cancellation in writing.

5. Refunds

We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month, you retain access through the end of the period and are not billed again. We may issue discretionary refunds for service outages or billing errors — contact tom@procalcs.net.

6. AI-generated content disclaimer

The AI's answers are informational and may be wrong. Do not rely on them for safety-critical decisions, legal advice, or as a substitute for inspection by a licensed HVAC professional. Building codes vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Verify code and refrigerant info with local authorities before acting.

7. Intellectual property

You own the content you submit (your equipment data, photos, conversations). You grant us a non-exclusive license to process it for the purpose of operating the service. We own the service itself, our prompts, and our trademarks.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or our infrastructure. You may delete your account at any time via Settings.

9. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which our company is registered. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email and the effective date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
